Taming the Economic Crisis - a Stringent Necessity for Romania
At the beginning of this century, the financial globalisation, reflected by the integration of capital markets, gained a positive effect by leading the resources to their most productive place, contributing at the same time to the development of poorer areas. However, in time, due to a set of disturbing factors that operated upon the financial and monetary market, there appeared fallouts, present since 2006-2008, that generated the global economic crisis which was reported by some more rational experts, but ignored by banks, businessmen, governments, etc. Today, this crisis acts powerfully, without any concrete signs of improvement and the actions that were taken have failed to mitigate its negative consequences. In this case Romania, respecting the European and global context, must act through the determined effort of all actors of the economic environment in order to overcome this situation, by the improvement of natural resources (particularly agricultural), the growth of absorption of the European funds, the increment of foreign direct investments, the increment of competitiveness, reducing unemployment, reforming the administrative system which is too expensive under current circumstances. This challenge can be done if we bear in mind that during these years of crisis Poland has succeeded in achieving economic growth using concrete measures and leaving aside group interests
LabVIEW Interactive Simulations for Electromagnetic Compatibility
At university level, virtual instrumentation techniques are extensively used for both education and research in various fields of electrical engineering (EE). In this paper, we illustrate the possibility of using a virtual instrumentation approach focused on LabVIEW to create interactive simulations for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). Firstly, the main reasons for adopting the LabVIEW graphical programming to develop such tools are given. Then, a number of specific modules are presented
Magnetic Refrigeration: emerging technology for sustainable refrigeration
This article presents the magnetic refrigeration technology that is based on the magnetocaloric effect, heating or cooling of a magnetic material when the applied magnetic field changes. The first part of the paper shows an introductory study of the evolution of this technology over the years, continuing with the presentation of the magnetic regenerator model, which is composed of two heat exchangers with parallel plates of magnetocaloric material, gadolinium and are separated by heat transfer agent flow channels. The benefits and advantages of this technology are described, in the context of the current stage of development
Modeliranje magnetnega regeneratorja in sredstva za prenos toplote v mikrokanalih
In this article, a brief introduction of conventional refrigeration is given, followed by a description and history of magnetic refrigeration. The active magnetic regenerator comprises 12 parallel plates of magnetocaloric material (gadolinium (Gd)), through which circulates the heat transfer fluid (water, in this case). At both ends of the regenerator are the heat exchangers. The hot heat exchanger (HHEX) and the cold heat exchanger (CHEX) connects the fluid to the heat sources. The principle of operation of a magnetic refrigeration installation is based on exploiting the magnetocaloric effect from the materials that possess these properties (in this case, Gd).V tem članku je uvodoma opisano kompresorskego hlajenje, ki mu sledi opis in zgodovina magnetnega hlajenja. Aktivni magnetni regenerator obsega 12 vzporednih plošč magnetokaloričnega materiala (gadolinij (Gd)), skozi katerega kroži tekočina za prenos toplote (v tem primeru voda). Na obeh koncih regeneratorja sta izmenjevalnika toplote. Vroči izmenjevalnik toplote (HHEX) in hladni izmenjevalnik toplote (CHEX) povezujeta tekočino z viri toplote. Načelo delovanja magnetne hladilne naprave temelji na izkoriščanju magnetokaloričnega učinka materialov, ki imajo te lastnosti (v tem primeru Gd)
